How we work

Every booking at the Podil studio opens with a free consultation of about 45 minutes. It is a working session, not a sales pitch, and it closes with a written quote you can take home and read again before deciding.

  1. Brief

You describe the piece or the permanent makeup look you have in mind, where it sits on the body, and what you want to avoid. Placement, size and how the design should read in ten years are part of this conversation.

  2. Reference review

We go through your saved images together and pull them apart: line weight, contrast, brow shape, lip tone. Some references do not translate to your skin or your proportions, and saying so early saves a cover-up later.

  3. Skin assessment

The artist examines the area in daylight, checks tone and texture, and asks about medication, sun exposure, previous work and healing history. If the skin is not ready, the session is moved rather than rushed.

  4. Written quote

You leave with an itemised figure: session time, pigment or ink, and the touch-up price. Deposits and rescheduling terms are on the same sheet. Nothing is added mid-session.

Custom Tattooing, Drawn For One Body

Each piece begins as a conversation and ends as a written quote, before the machine is switched on. Studio work is 18+. One tattoo client is booked per session, so drawing time is not shared.

What We Tattoo

  • LineSingle-pass linework, from a short script across the collarbone to a full forearm outline.
  • BlackworkSolid fills, negative-space cuts and heavy black panels, planned so the edges stay crisp as the skin settles.
  • Fine-LineThin needles for delicate detail, lettering and small botanical composition. Placement and scale are agreed at consultation, because fine lines read differently on a moving area.
  • OrnamentalSymmetric bands, mandala and folk motifs drawn to the shape of the limb rather than copied and stretched.
  • Cover-UpAssessed on sight. Older work is photographed, then a plan is given for what can be covered in one pass and what needs two.

Session, Placement And Revisions

Placement
Advice on placement, size and how a design ages on that area. Inner arm, ribs and spine are each quoted with their own session length.
Session Length
Short pieces run 45 to 90 minutes. A full-day booking is capped at six hours of tattooing, with breaks.
Revisions
One round of drawn revisions is included before the session. Line or shading adjustments within the first 30 days of healing are reviewed at no charge; any second visit needed is quoted first.
Deposit
The deposit holds the date and comes off the final price. It is not refunded, but can be moved once with 48 hours notice.

Permanent Makeup

Cosmetic tattooing, Podil studio

Permanent makeup is a cosmetic tattoo. Pigment is placed into the upper dermis with a fine needle, so the result sits inside the skin rather than on top of it. Everything below follows from that one fact: this is a procedure with a healing period, with variables, and with limits.

Treatments

  • Brows: hair-stroke or soft powder technique, drawn to your existing brow line.
  • Eyeliner: lash-line, classic or with a short wing.
  • Lips: contour or full-lip tint for evenness, not for changing lip shape.
  • Camouflage: scar and areola work, quoted only after a consultation.

Pigment notes

We use mineral and hybrid lines with documented batch codes. Colour is chosen against your skin tone in daylight, and a patch test is offered before the first session.

Brown and red bases can cool or warm over the first year. Cool-toned mixes fade toward grey on some skin, which is why we keep brows warmer at the start.

Healing ranges

Ranges, not promises. Skin type, placement and aftercare all move them.

  • 3 to 7 daysSurface flaking and light scabbing.
  • 2 to 4 weeksColour settles and may look uneven while it does.
  • 4 to 8 weeksFinal result visible; the touch-up window opens.

Risks, stated plainly

  • Pigment can fade unevenly or shift tone over time.
  • A second session is sometimes needed for evenness.
  • Sensation varies by placement and by person. Lips and the lash line are usually reported as the most sensitive areas.
  • Redness and swelling for a few days are typical. Infection or a pigment reaction is uncommon but possible.
  • Results are long-lasting rather than permanent, and removal is a separate, more involved process.
